The drug business is apparently pretty good – the legal drug business.
Connecticut-based pharmaceutical company Boehringer Ingelheim is going forward with part of its planned $500 million expansion, Ridgefield's first selectman said.
First Selectman Rudy Marconi said the company is proceeding as originally intended, although it plans to move ahead cautiously. He had recently questioned if the company would expand, given the state of the economy.
Plans calls for $350 million of the expansion project, which includes a physical science building and new laboratories, to be on the Ridgefield side of its property.
The other $120 million would be on the Danbury side.
The company eventually expects to bring another 400 workers to the site.
