Officials also announced that they are working to distribute 10,000 devices to students in the Hartford Public Schools system to help with distance learning. They are asking that families that already have devices use those so that the items can be distributed to those with the greatest need.
The mayor also outlined plans for isolation centers for anyone homeless who contracts COVID-19. Right now they are looking at locations at the Willie Ware Center on Windsor Street and the Governor's Foot Guard Armory.
Bronin also raised food security concerns, saying they are already seeing a greater need at the food pantries and an unprecedented need to get food distributed. Those interested in volunteering to help can visit the Foodshare website here or contact 311.
