13-Year-Old Boy Shot in the Face in Hartford

A 13-year-old boy was shot in the face in Hartford and survived, police said.

Hartford police say the responded at 9:12 a.m. to 645 Blue Hills Avenue on Sunday and found the teen suffering from gunshot wounds to the left cheek an rear of his neck.

The victim, who was conscious and alert, stated that he was walking near Bowles Park when a dark colored vehicle approached him. The rear passenger fired three shots then the vehicle fled in an unknown direction.

The injuries were not life-threatening and the teen was transported to a local hospital where he is in stable/guarded condition. 

The Major Crimes Division is investigating the incident.
