A 7-year-old boy is in critical condition at Connecticut Children's Medical Center after he went underwater in a pool in New Milford.
The child and others were in the pool at a home on Eastern Lane on Tuesday afternoon when the child went under. Someone at the house pulled him from the water after he resurfaced and showed signs of distress, police said.
The boy was in cardiac arrest, police said.
A nurse who was at the house performed CPR and was able to get the child's pulse going, police said. An ambulance brought the boy to New Milford Hospital and he was able to breathe. LifeStar then brought him to CCMC, where he is in critical condition.
Police said that the boy was at the home with his foster mother and this is being treated as an accident.
