Car Strikes Pharmacy

A car struck the side of a CVS Pharmacy in West Hartford, but no one was seriously injured police said.

The incident happened just before 6:30pm Sunday night at the pharmacy's 1240 Farmington Ave location in that town. Police say a car was backing up when the accelerator was accidentally pressed or became stuck. The driver of the car ended up striking another car before slamming against the wall of the pharmacy.

Police say the store will be closed until a structural engineer can be called to assess the damage.

No one in either of the cars was injured and no one inside the store was hurt.

Police are continuing their investigation.
