Coyotes Kill 5 Pets in Fairfield

The pets were killed in their own yards.

A recent string of coyote attacks on cats and dogs have pet owners in Fairfield on edge.

The town’s animal control officer is warning residents to protect their four-legged friends after coyotes have killed five pets in the last six months.

All five animals were attacked in their own yards.

Neighbors said the coyotes are getting bolder and moving into populated areas.

Animal control said coyotes are most active at night and in the early morning hours.

Some tips they’re giving to pet owners include not leaving your animal unattended outdoors, not leaving trash or food lying around outside and calling police if you see a coyote acting aggressively.
