Dad Accused of Taking Kids for a Year Charged

He was charged with violation of a standing criminal restraining order, harassment in the second degree and three counts of violation of probation.

Glastonbury police have arrested a divorced father of three accused of taking his children out of the country for a year and harassing the children’s mother.

Abdelnaser Alqadumi, 44, was arrested on Tuesday in Massachusetts on a warrant stemming for the alleged abduction.

The children’s mother signed an agreement, allowing her three children to travel to Jordan with Alqadumi, but they did not return when they were supposed to so the mother called police, the Hartford Courant reported.

Alqadumi did eventually return the children after a year overseas, but he did not return until recently, police said.

While Alqadumi was out of the country, he violated a protective order by harassing the children's mother and threatening to never return with them, according to Glastonbury police.

He was charged with violation of a standing criminal restraining order, harassment in the second degree and three counts of violation of probation.
