Federal Health Insurance Site to Experience Outage

Connecticut consumers will still be able to use the state's health insurance marketplace website while a federal data hub is updated.

Access Health CT, the state's marketplace or health exchange, said they were informed by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services that maintenance on the hub will begin Saturday at 9 p.m. It will conclude on Sunday at 9 a.m.

During this maintenance period, the federal data services hub will be intermittently unavailable. The hub includes Internal Revenue Service data that is used to determine whether applicants qualify for financial assistance to help pay for private insurance or for Medicaid coverage.

Access Health says consumers, however, will still be able to create accounts, shop anonymously for health insurance plans and compare prices.
