Fight Breaks Out at “Free” Store

Volunteers fought with a fire extinguisher and a knife, police said.

New Haven police broke up a fight outside a "free" store Thursday night.

The fight broke out around 6:30 p.m on Thursday as one male and one female volunteer were packing up at the New Haven Free Store, which gives away donated merchandise to customers, The New Haven Independent reports. 

One hit the other with a fire extinguisher and the other reached for a knife, police said.

The woman suffered minor injuries .Police charged both of them with assault.
