Hell Hath No Fury Like an Angry Ex

Cops say a woman broke into her ex's home and attacked a sleeping couple

A New Britain woman apparently couldn't let bygones be bygones last week, when, according to police, she broke into an ex-boyfriend's home and assaulted him and his new girlfriend while they were asleep.

Vanetta Boggus, 21, is accused of prying open a door at her ex-boyfriend's home around 1:54 a.m on May 22. Police reports said the man woke up to find Boggus on top of his current girlfriend, punching her in the head.

The man sprung into action, trying to defend his girlfriend, but Boggus wouldn't give up and grabbed the man, forcing him into a closet while hitting him repeatedly, police said.

She also kicked a computer monitor off its base during the struggle, police said. The man used a curtain rod to defend himself and was finally able to break free, according to the police report.

Boggus was trying to flee the apartment when New Britain police officers arrived. They subdued her with a stun gun to get her under control.

Boggus is charged with assault, burglary, criminal mischief and resisting arrest.

Her ex will likely be looking for a new door.
