Intruder Touched Victim During Drunken Burglary: Cops

Naugatuck police have arrested a local man who is accused of inappropriately touching a neighbor during a drunken burglary.

Police responded to a burglary report on School Street just before 5:30 a.m. on Friday and arrested Brian Hofman, 37, of 43 School Street in Naugatuck, who is accused of going into an aquaintance's apartment without permission while he was drunk and touching the victim.

Hofman was charged with fourth-degree sexual assault and first-degree burglary.

He was held on a $20,000 surety bond and was due in court yesterday.

It’s not clear if he has an attorney.
