Massachusetts Hearing for Hernandez Associate Pushed Back

A court appearance in Massachusetts by an associate of former New England Patriot Aaron Hernandez who has been charged as an accessory to murder has been delayed.

A hearing for Carlos Ortiz in Fall River Superior Court that was scheduled for Wednesday is being pushed back to an unspecified date. His attorney said he received a large amount of evidence from prosecutors and wants to go through it.

Ortiz has pleaded not guilty to accessory after the fact and is being held on $500,000 cash bail.

Hernandez has pleaded not guilty to murder in the death of Odin Lloyd, a semi-professional football player who was dating the sister of Hernandez's girlfriend.

Prosecutors say Ortiz and associate Ernest Wallace were with Hernandez and Lloyd on the night Lloyd was shot near Hernandez's North Attleborough home.
