Murder Suspect Nabbed at Airport

A man’s trip to Guyana was cut short when police nabbed in Florida because Waterbury police wanted to speak with him about a murder.

Parasurama Rabindranauth, 26, was arrested at Wednesday at Miami-Dade International Airport, where he planned to get on a plane bound for his native Guyana.

Police had been looking for Rabindranauth since last Saturday, when 38-year-old Michael Sembhudyal was shot to death in his Waterbury home. Rabindranauth had booked a 10:40 a.m. flight to Guyana in South America.

Rabindranauth dated Sembhudyal's cousin for six years before splitting up, which led to an ongoing dispute and the shooting, police said.

Rabindranauth faces a murder charge. He could return to Connecticut as soon as Friday if he waives extradition.
