Child Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries After Crash in Farmington

A child has life-threatening injuries and three other people have serious injuries after a crash in Farmington on Sunday afternoon.

First responders were called to Route 177 at Nauset Lane shortly before 3:30 p.m. after getting a report of a head-on crash involving two cars.

According to police, a 9-year-old child suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash and was transported by LifeStar to Connecticut Children's Medical Center. Three other people were transported to Hartford-area hospitals with serious injuries.

The accident reconstruction team responded and is assisting in the investigation. Route 177 was closed during the investigation, but has since reopened.
