Milford police arrested a Trumbull woman who is accused of leaving children alone in the car at two separate shopping centers on Monday afternoon.
Someone contacted police at 2:52 p.m. on Monday to report children had been left alone in a car in the parking lot of 1365 Boston Post Road.
The same person then called police back to say a woman had returned to her car, drove to another store at 1405 Boston Post Road and again left the children alone in the car, police said.
Police responded to the second location, where they stayed with the children until Sonya Reilly, 45, of Trumbull, returned to her car, police said.
Police notified the state Department of Children and Families.
Reilly was charged with leaving a child under the age of 12 unsupervised. She was released on a promise to appear and is due in court on Sept. 16.
