Haddam-Killingworth High Evacuated Over Threat

State police are also investigating a possible pipe bomb that is unrelated.

Haddam-Killingworth High School and the central office of Regional School District 17 were evacuated after a threatening note was found on a bathroom wall and students have been sent home.

The students were sent home around 1 p.m.

In an unrelated incident that happened at the same time, the State Police Bomb Squad and the Haddam Fire Department were called to Beaver Meadow Road in Higganum after some town employees found what looked like a pipe bomb while cleaning sewer pipes, according to state police.

The device was disposed of, police said, and the scene was clear.

State police said the calls came in around noon.
