Yale Uses Facebook to Protest NYPD Surveillance

Yale students have spoken out about NYPD conducting surveillance of Muslim students.

A group at Yale has turned to Facebook in protest of the New York Police Department monitoring its Muslim student association, as well as those at other schools.

The Associated Press broke the news last month that New York police went through websites at several schools, including Yale, the university president complained and called the surveillance "antithetical to the values" of Yale and the country.

On Tuesday, Yale students launched the Call the NYPD Facebook page.

It includes photos of more than 100 members of the school community who met on Monday and posed for photos holding signs that say “I’m a Muslim,” I’m a Sister, “I’m an Islam,” “I am a Chemist,” “I’m sexy and I Know It.”
