Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch has urged former Mayor Joseph Ganim, who was jailed for seven years for corruption, to abandon a comeback bid.
Finch, who is seeking a third term, told WPLR-FM yesterday that Ganim should "try something else."
The Connecticut Post also reports that the Finch administration said Ganim is scaring away potential investors in Connecticut's largest city.
Ganim has asked the Democratic town committee for support at the party's nominating convention this summer.
Ganim told the same radio show nearly two weeks ago he would be a better chief executive because of his past. Ganim says he's a better person, "maybe a little smarter...maybe humbler."
Ganim was convicted of steering city contracts in exchange for wine, clothes, cash and home improvements.
