West Hartford police have arrested the driver in a fatal crash on Avon Mountain that killed one of his passengers and left another in critical condition.
Quashan Whitehead, 23, is charged with manslaughter, assault with a motor vehicle, and driving under the influence.
Whitehead lost control of his car, went airborne and slammed into two trees on Dec. 29, investigators said.
A passenger, Robert Tyrelle Wimbush, 22, was killed. Brittany Drawhorn, 20, remains in intensive care at St. Francis Hospital.
