Cops: Teacher Makes Kid Eat Garbage, Gets Time Out

Police: 5-year-old forced to eat from the garbage

It might work for Oscar the Grouch, but it's probably less appealing for your kids.

A Bridgeport kindergarten teacher is being put on "time out" after she was accused of forcing a 5-year-old boy to eat from a garbage can.

Anne O'Donnell, 67, of Fairfield, faces risk of injury charges after the incident last week at Park City Magnet School.

It all started when the boy apparently tossed out his lunch of chicken nuggets and a banana. O'Donnell, school officials said, then took the nuggets and fruit from the garbage, and forced the boy to eat in front of her.

O'Donnell didn't deny the allegations, the director of security at the school told the Connecticut Post.  Meanwhile, she is still employed, pending an internal investigation. She's been released on a promise to appear in court.
