Fire broke out at the oil tank farm on Frontage Road in East Haven Wednesday afternoon, according to fire officials.
Firefighters responded to the call around 12:50 p.m.
The fire started after fuel leaked during a transfer from one tank to another, according to Fire Chief Matthew Marcarelli. The fire was contained to the tank farm's pipe rack, he said.
It took firefighters about 45 minutes to bring the fire under control due to some issues with the fire protection system at the site, Marcarelli said. There were no injuries.
