One person has been detained after police said they hit someone with their car in East Haven Sunday.
First responders were called to Glenn Haven Road and Thornton Road around 9:30 p.m.
Once at the scene, firefighters said they found a person who had been struck and was pinned underneath a car.
Firefighters utilized tools to lift the car and remove the person who was pinned.

The person was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital. The extent of their injuries are unknown at this time.
Authorities have not released details about the person who was detained in connection to the collision.
East Haven Police are continuing to investigate.
