Postal worker robbed at gunpoint in Hamden: police

Authorities are investigating after a postal worker was robbed at gunpoint in Hamden Saturday.

The robbery happened on Treadwell Street at about 3:45 p.m. The postal worker wasn't injured, according to police.

The postal worker told officers that he was delivering mail on his route when a black Jeep SUV with heavy tinted windows parked behind his truck. A passenger in the Jeep got out and approached the postal worker, pointing a gun and demanding his work keys, according to police.

The thief is believed to be a man wearing a black ski mask and hat, a dark gray long-sleeved shirt and black pants. The worker told police he handed over his work keys.

The police department said the suspect then got back into his car and fled onto Leeder Hill Drive. No arrests have been made.
