One person is dead after a car hit a tree on Route 214 in Ledyard on Tuesday night, according to police.
Police responded to a 911 call at 8:57 p.m. about a crash near 43 Iron Street, which is also Route 214 and found one person in the car, police said.
LifeStar responded to the crash, but the person was pronounced dead after being pulled from the car.
