A woman is accused of shoplifting from Walgreens in Hartford Tuesday morning and biting an employee who tried to stop her.
Police said 20-year-old Marissa Chevalier, of Enfield, was trying to steal more than $200 worth of batteries from the store at 161 Washington St.
Officers responded to Walgreens at 7:40 a.m. and found store employees had Chevalier detained.
They said she bit the employee on the right arm, puncturing the skin, and the employee was transported by ambulance to Hartford Hospital emergency room to be treated.
Chevalier was charged with first-degree robbery, second-degree assault and sixth-degree larceny.
