Wallingford Couple to Witness History

A Wallingford couple is headed to the Inauguration.  Irma and Reggie Bradford received two golden tickets as a gift from their daughter.

The couple is calling it the trip of a lifetime.  "If you asked anyone of color if it was possible for a black person to become President of the United State of America, they’d say absolutely not," said Reggie Bradford.  President-Elect Obama said 'yes we can' and made the couple believers.  "It still hasn’t sunk in and that’s why I wanted to be there," said Irma Bradford.

This won’t be Irma’s first trip to Washington, D.C.  She was there 46 years ago marching alongside Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  She believed in his dream and is now living it.  "I’m glad to have been a part of it," said Bradford.

The couple will take their 3 children and 6-year-old granddaughter Ava.  The couple will fly out of New York next Tuesday morning for the Inauguration and then return to Connecticut later that night.
