Mariners are being told to be cautious after humpback whales have been spotted swimming around Boston Harbor.
Since Friday, Boston Harbor Cruises have seen a handful of humpback whales feeding in the harbor, less than a quarter of a mile from downtown Boston.
A middle school teacher from Hingham said a group of whales approached a boat near the Harbor Islands and jumped out of the water, about 10 feet from the boat.

Recreational boaters in the harbor are being urged to go slow, keeping at least 100 to 300 feet away from the animals. Boaters should not try to touch, feed or swim with the whales.
