UConn Football Players Arrested

UConn Head Football Coach Randy Edsall is dealing with more than just x's and o's as he prepares for this weekend's game against Vanderbilt.

He told reporters at a Tuesday news conference that two of his players had been arrested.

Junior kicker Dave Teggart and sophomore linebacker Jerome Williams were charged with breach of peace early Tuesday morning.

UConn police were called to a report of a fight in the parking lot of the French Building at the Hilltop Apartment complex on the Storrs campus just before 12:30 a.m.

Teggart and Williams were taken into custody and released on $500 bonds.

Edsall said both would still play in Saturday's game at Rentschler Field against Vanderbilt. He said the arrests would be handled internally.
