Recruit Boley Visits UConn

The recruiting process never stops. So even though the Huskies have buttoned up the 2014 class, and have added commitments to the 2015 class, it's not too early to offering scholarships to players who won't be freshmen until 2016.

That brings us to Erin Boley, a 6-2 sophomore forward from Hodgenville, Kentucky, who made her second unofficial visit to UConn recently.

“We were able to do some more academic stuff this time and explore the surrounding areas of the campus,” Boley’s mother, Mary Beth, told SNY.com's Carl Adamec. “She really enjoyed her time with the players and the coaches.”

Boley was on hand when the Huskies handled the University of Hartford on Nov. 9 -- she received a scholarship offer from Geno Auriemma a short time later -- as well as for the season finale against Louisville on March 3.

And like almost every other player to play for Auriemma in recent years, Boley already has a long list of accomplishments. She was the Kentucky Gatorade Player of the Year, led her high school team to a 32-5 record last season while averaging 20.2 points, 9.5 rebounds and 2.1 steals per game. She also converted 42 percent of his looks form behind the arc.

As it stands, her recruitment remains wide open.

“She will narrow it down to a smaller list soon,” Mary Beth Boley said. “UConn will definitely be on that list!”

The Huskies' 2014 class includes Gabby Williams (5-11, Nevada), Sadie Edwards (5-9, New Jersey), Courtney Ekmark (6-0, Arizona) and Kia Nurse (5-11, Canada). And last month, Napheesa Collier, a 6-1 junior forward from St. Louis, Mo., gave an oral commitment to UConn.
