UConn has landed 6-7 forward Shonn Miller, who will be a graduate student for the 2015-16 season. Miller previously played at Cornell, where he averaged 16.8 points and 8.5 rebounds last season.

Miller missed his junior season with a shoulder injury, and because the Ivy Leagues do not allow redshirting, he would have to transfer to continue his college basketball career.

"I just felt accepted from the first moment I stepped up here," Miller told the Hartford Courant. "I felt like part of the family. I just got a good vibe from the whole situation."

The Huskies are familiar with graduate transfers; in recent years R.J. Evans and Lasan Kromah were contributors off the bench for UConn.

"What I hope to get out of this opportunity is to win, in whatever role the coaches want me," Miller said. "I feel like I can do whatever they need me to do — score, rebound."

So what are the Huskies getting in Miller? The Courant asked Yale coach James Jones.

"I think Shonn is a tremendous talent," Jones said. "He's big, strong, athletic, he had some thunderous dunks over his career, you shake your head at how awesome they were. He's a tremendous defensive rebounder. … He can fall in love with the three-pointer. I think he's more effective scoring around the basket and he could be a better offensive rebounder."

Miller will join a 2015 class that includes freshman point guard Jalen Adams and big man Steve Enoch.
