Cop and K-9 Struck by Car

A Bridgeport police officer and his K-9 are recovering after getting struck by a hit-and-run driver on Thursday night, police said.

According to investigators, the "impatient driver" went through a police barrier on Seaview Avenue and struck the pair.

Police said the officer was not seriously injured, but the K-9 was dragged several feet and suffered serious injuries.

The driver fled the scene and might be in a black or blue Chrysler with damage on the passenger side, according to police.
