Are CT's Biggest Losers Up for the Challenge?

For the first time all four of CT’s Biggest Losers came together to test their fitness level.

"When you're in a group to have that energy I think is fantastic.  I think it's a good piece of advice for people trying to work out at home, to find a group you're comfortable with and keep pushing each other,” said Jean Jordan from Old Saybrook.

Part of the challenge for the participants was the not knowing what's to come.

The four trainers teamed up to design a workout to remember.  It included a circuit of kettle bell swings, medicine ball slams, push ups, air squats and a quarter mile run in between each set with a backpack carrying the amount of weight they’ve each lost

The run was an extra big challenge for Elizabeth and JR who have asthma and Suzi who has a bad knee.

Despite the difficulty they all finished.

Jean was done first.

"It felt good.  I mean three months ago I would have been way far behind the final finisher so it felt really good to know I could accomplish this,” Jean said.

Suzi crossed the finish line next.

"It was really hard I could barely breathe part of it," she said.

Elizabeth came in third and JR was fourth.

JR’s trainer, Tyler didn't let up on him for a second.

"In the moment I wanted to tell him please get away from me but I would use other words.  But when it's all said and done we give each other a handshake and I'm like, thank you,” he said.

Overall, it proved to be a day for overcoming obstacles

"Never in a million years, never ever in a million years could you tell me that I would be able to do all of these obstacles and then run a quarter of a mile on top of that," said Elizabeth.

But the day wasn't quite done there.

As a surprise we turned the tables and put our four trainers to the same challenge.

The biggest losers also added in some tough twists too.

"We were kind of thinking that maybe something like that would come up so.  Jean was already planning gin her mind some evil tricks for us. And I think she came up some good ones that really targeted us trainers and made us work hard and made us realize we still have to work hard to stay in shape.  It doesn't just come easy to us either,” said trainer, Jessica Dean.

In the end though, this event was about these four people and making changes that will last a lifetime.

"This was extremely hard this was no joke,” said trainer, Eric Jutras.

This week Elizabeth was the biggest loser dropping four pounds.  JR lost 2.2 pounds.  Suzi and Jean both stayed the same.

Elizabeth is also the overall biggest loser, weighing in at 208 with a loss of 34 pounds.

Jean started at 272.8 and now weighs 249, a difference of 23.8 pounds.

JR has dropped 18.4 pounds, now weighing in at 402.6.  Suzi weighs 237 with a loss of 17 pounds.

Now just two weeks to go before the final weigh-in
