Worker Killed in Construction Accident

A worker was killed at a construction site in Waterbury Tuesday.

Scott Graves, 40, of Cromwell, was crushed by a drilling machine he was operating in the rear of Carrington School on Kenmore Avenue, police said.

Graves, who was working for Clarence Welti Associates, was conducting soil testing at the site of a planned new school when the accident happened.

He was drilling test borings when the machine rolled over on top of him, killing him instantly, police said.
