Emergency crews responded to what was reported as a gas leak in the area of 23 Franklin Street in Torrington on Monday and the scene is clear.
Despite initial reports that the building was evacuated, officials said there was a faint smell of natural gas and the building was never evacuated.
No one was hurt and officials from the fire department said they believe the leak was outside the building.
What caused the odor is not clear.
