CT Fastrak Open House Tonight

The CT fastrak, a 9.4 mile bus way, known as the New Britain to Hartford busway, is scheduled to begin operating early next year and the first “open house” meeting will be held tonight to deliver a progress report.

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is hosting the public meeting, which will include a “flyover” animation video. The new CTfastrak bus will also be there for you to see.

The bus way will have 10 stations, located in New Britain, Newington, West Hartford and Hartford, with buses running every three to seven minutes during peak commuting hours.

The bus-only road is expected to improve travel times for bus riders from Bristol, Waterbury, Southington and Cheshire to destinations in the CTfastrak corridor.

The open house meetings will be held at:

  • Central Connecticut State University Institute of Technology & Business Development, 185 Main Street, New Britain, CT, on Wednesday, April 23, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The presentation is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
  • Old State House, 800 Main Street in Hartford, on Wednesday, April 30, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The presentation will be at noon.
  • Hartford Public Library, 500 Main Street in Hartford, on Tuesday, May 6, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The presentation will be at 6 p.m.
