Woman Killed in I-395 Crash

The crash closed the highway between exits 79A and 79.

An Uncasville woman died in a crash on Interstate 395 Wednesday afternoon.

Edwina Maryeski, 73, lost control of her Subaru Legacy while driving in the southbound lanes of I-395 near exits 79a around 12:20 p.m., according to state police.

The car drifted into the center median, then veered back across two lanes of traffic and across the exit ramp before crashing into the guardrail, police said.

It was unclear whether Maryeski died due to some type of medical condition, or as a result of injuries she sustained in the crash, according to police.

The southbound lanes were closed for more than two hours while police investigated the accident.
