A driver is dead after a fiery early morning crash in Hamden on Saturday.
Hamden police were called to the area of Whitney Ave. and Lincoln St. around 3:15 a.m.
When officers and firefighters arrived on scene, they discovered a car that was fully engulfed in flames.
After putting the fire out, officers discovered the driver deceased inside the vehicle.
According to police, the car was traveling north on Whitney Avenue, crossed the center line, left the roadway and struck a building sign.
The identity of the victim is being withheld at this time pending notification of family.
