Lawsuit Alleges Sexual Bullying at Torrington High School

A former Torrington High School student has filed a federal lawsuit alleging he was sexually assaulted during almost two years of bullying he endured at the hands of football players.

The student, whose name is not used in the lawsuit, asserts the abuse occurred between October 2011 and June 2013. His lawsuit names the school district and several school officials.

Attorney Nicole Dorman, who is representing the school district, said the Board of Education will vigorously fight the allegations in court but had no additional comment.

According to the lawsuit, one student was charged with sexual assault, but the case was handled in juvenile court and the disposition has not been made public.

The plaintiff now attends another school.
