Life Star Called to Crash in Barkhamsted

Life Star medical helicopter was called to a car accident involving a motorcycle in Barkhamsted Sunday afternoon.

Officials said the crash happened on Route 44 and Old North Road at around 3:35 p.m.

The motorcyclist, Christopher Lyon of New Hartford, was airlifted to Hartford Hospital for a broken leg and injuries to his head.

According to state police, Lyon was heading east on Route 44 when his motorcycle slammed into the rear of a car that was stopping.

The accident remains under investigation.
