Waterbury police are investigating a shooting that killed a 52-year-old man.
Police said William Aquino was fatally shot around 8 p.m. Sunday in the roadway outside an apartment building at 3 Gayridge Road in Waterbury.
Aquino was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital and was originally listed in serious condition. He died early Monday morning.
Family members plan to hold a candelight vigil in his memory at the shooting scene Monday night.
Police are currently interviewing residents who may have seen the shooting and are collecting evidence. Anyone with information is encouraged to call Waterbury police.
No arrests have been made at this time.
