Police Investigate School Bus Crash

Bristol police are investigating a head-on crash between a Suburu and a school bus.

It happened on East Road in Bristol just before eight o'clock Friday night.

The bus was carrying the Bristol Central girls swim team back from a meet in Enfield when the crash happened.

It appears the driver of the car lost control coming down a hill, slammed into the bus, and then spun around, according to witnesses.

"It was just a lot of shaking.  First I thought we hit a curb, but then I felt the bang," said Ileish Burney, a Bristol Central junior who was riding on the bus.  "I was scared.  A lot of people were crying." 

While a few students were taken to the hospital as a precaution, no one was seriously hurt in the crash, according to police.
