Police Investigating Death of Norwalk Cab Driver

Police are investigating the death of a Norwalk cab driver who was stabbed several times early Monday morning.

Police found Jackson Pierre-Louis, 51, of Bridgeport, in a dark blue 2005 Mazda MPV minivan for Norwalk Yellow Cab Inc. after he called 911 at 12:16 am., soon after he was stabbed.

Police said Pierre-Louis's cab had crashed into a parked vehicle on Grove Street. An ambulance transported him to Norwalk Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 1:05 a.m.

"Detectives are looking to speak with anyone who was in the cab earlier that night or anyone who is on the street who witnessed what happened. EMS was called transported the victim to Norwalk Hospital where he shortly later succumbs to his injuries," Lt. Paul Resnick said.

It’s still not clear who was in the cab or a motive. Police say they’re working with Cab Company, who released a statement saying:

"On behalf of the Norwalk Yellow Cab family our thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Jackson Pierre Louis’s family and friends."

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Farmington did an autopsy to determine the cause of death and police are awaiting the results.

Detectives examined the taxi cab to collct evidence and are following leads. The investigation is ongoing.
