Two People Shot in Derby: Police

    Police responded to a shooting at the intersection of 5th Street and Anson Street in Derby on Thursday evening.

    Police are searching for two suspects after two people were shot on Anson Street in Derby on Thursday.

    Officers were at the scene of an unrelated accident on 6th street around 4:45 p.m. on Thursday when several gunshots were fired on Anson Street nearby, according to police.

    Officers arrived on Anson Street to find one person suffering a gunshot wound to the upper torso.  That victim was taken to the hospital.

    Around 5:15 p.m., police were called to Olivia Street for a report of a second gunshot victim.  According to officals, the victim was shot at the Anson Street scene and left the area after being hit by gunfire.

    Police said the second victim suffered a superficial wound to the abdomen, and was transported to the hospital to be treated. 

    Both victims are listed in stable condition, police said.  The identities of the two victims have not been released.
