Police are investigating after the Hartford Municipal Employees Federal Credit Union was robbed Wednesday afternoon.
According to police, a suspect entered the bank at at 523 Main Street in Hartford just before 1 p.m. Wednesday. He ordered two tellers to "get back," then checked the register drawers and stole $1,830 in cash.
He fled north on Main Street and is still on the run, police said. The suspect is described as a black man who is about 40 years old standing about 5-foot-8 with an average build.
He was wearing a gray knit cap with a light-colored stripe, a gray hooded sweatshirt with black patches on the elbows and "1972" printed on the sleeve, black pants, black shoes and a black ski mask with sunglasses.
No weapon was implied and no one was injured during the robbery, police said.
