A 62-year-old woman from Waterbury is in the hospital after she was attacked by a large rooster and a couple of chickens.

The woman's daughter says it happened at the corner of Woodtick and Stillson roads in Waterbury Friday. She told us her mother was walking down the street when the rooster, which she says is the size of a wild turkey, came charging. She says her mother was so scared that she suffered a mild heart attack.

The victim was not physically hurt, but she still remains hospitalized.

The owner of the bird said the Rooster was no longer at his property.
