A Windham woman is dead after a crash on Route 6 (Willimantic Road) in Columbia on Sunday evening, according to state police.
Police said the driver, Jennifer Milhomme, 24, went off the road near the intersection of Route 6 and Oakwood Lane around 4:30 p.m. Sunday, hit a mailbox and a guardrail before crossing the highway and hitting a tree.
Lifestar said they were called, but then canceled.
Paramedics determined that Milhomme was dead at the scene, according to state police.
Police are investigating and ask witnesses to call Troop K in Colchester at 860-465-5400.
