Lifestar medical helicopter transported a motorcycle crash victim from Interstate 691 eastbound in Meriden to Hartford Hospital on Friday morning.
State police found Carlton Crooks 28-year-old Waterbury on the side of the highway near exit 11 at 8:16 a.m. after a passenger in a truck saw a crash scene.
Crooks was alert when police responded and he told them he'd been involved in a crash around 11 p.m. on Wednesday.
The motorcycle was hidden from sight by brush and there were no reports of crashes so police could not confirm the time it occured.
Police said Crooks was driving at a curve, hit the guardrail, slid under it and was ejected.
He suffered severe injuries to his lower extremeties.
