State Announces More Layoffs

The state announced additional executive branch layoffs Thursday as part of an ongoing workforce reduction.

According to the Office of Policy and Management, to date 825 employees have been laid off. The positions were cut from the Department of Children and Families, the Department of Correction, the Department of Developmental Services, Department of Mental Health and Additional Services, University of Connecticut Health Center and several others.

Gov. Dannel Malloy proposed cutting 2,500 state jobs in his budget through layoffs, retirements, attrition and hiring freezes.
