Two people were injured in an accident at Lime Rock Park in Salisbury Saturday.
Park officials say the drivers, Andrew Palmer, 21, of Los Angeles, California and Jorge de la Torre, 25, of McAllen, Texas collided in Turn 1 during a warm-up session before the afternoon races. Both drivers were taken to Sharon Hospital where they were stabilized, then transported via LifeStar to Hartford Hospital.
Both drivers were scheduled to ride in the Pirelli World Challenge race at Lime Rock Saturday afternoon. Saturday night the PWC announced that both drivers remained under treatment at Hartford Hospital.
