No White Powder Found in Incident at State Office Building

State police are investigating after an state employee reported that white powder fell out of mail she was opening at the State Office Building at 165 Capitol Avenue in Hartford.

State Police said the emergency services unit and the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection responded.

The ventilation in the building was shut off, police said and the FBI was also notified.

Authorities checked the letter and found no powder. There was no threat, according to DEEP, and no further action was taken.

The scene is now clearing.
